***IMPORTANT INFO RE COVID-19***
If you have COVID symptoms or have tested positive, or have been in contact with anyone who has, then you must notify us at your earliest convenience so we can rearrange your appointment. We are currently paperless to reduce risk, so owner consent is implied when you book your appointment, and you will need to confirm you have read and understood the T&C's and privacy policy. All pre-treatment information is currently being taken over the phone prior to the first session.
For remedial work - Prior to your appointment we will require a completed consent form from your vet. The form can be downloaded below, or you can contact us via phone or email and we can send one directly to your vet on your behalf.
For maintenance work - no veterinary consent is required, but a notification may be sent to your vet that we are looking after your pet, and in the event we think the animal should be under veterinary treatment, we reserve the right to refuse physiotherapy treatment and we will refer you back to your vet.
A full assessment and treatment will be carried out, and you will be given an exercise plan to complete between appointments.
Please be aware that your animal may be a little uncomfortable for a few days post-treatment if they have had massage. This is to be expected; if you have ever had a sports massage you will understand why! We ask that animals are rested, and we will give you an indication as to how long for at the time of treatment. Please note: we don't create pain; we find it. We will discuss what we feel is appropriate as a time frame for follow up, but it likely we will need to see your animal again in a week or so.
We will then produce a written report for you, including any exercise prescription, and we will provide a veterinary report directly to the referring vet in remedial cases.
Veterinary physiotherapy, or indeed any musculoskeletal therapy, must only be carried out under veterinary consent, in line with the Veterinary Surgeon's Act 1966, and the Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 2015.
We therefore require a completed consent form at the time of treatment. The only exception is for maintenance treatment / management of performance animals.
For your convenience, you can download a consent form below, and ask your vet to sign it, or contact us and we'll do it on your behalf.
